“Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.” ― Epictetus
“It’s only money.” ― Phil Lynott
Ten years on from their celebrated debut album, Music from the Atlantic Fringe, The Unwanted returns with Pay Day, a collection of songs and tunes showing that their time has been well spent, continuing to comb the varied shores of the Atlantic for musical treasures.
Pay Day offers a selection of gems including polkas from Sligo, fiddle tunes from the Appalachian Mountains, a Traveller song, a Child Ballad, blues from the Deep South and songs from Irish blues/rock heroes Rory Gallagher and Thin Lizzy. All interpreted and performed by three musicians who each have spent a lifetime honing their craft and pursuing the music they love, no matter where it comes from. This is an album from the heart that speaks to the heart and is, in itself, a pay day of the richest kind.
